Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, former Prime Minister of the DPR Alexander Borodai said this on Channel One, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In fact, we are slowly advancing. Our offensive is taking place, first of all, on the territory of the Zaporozhye region. We are advancing quite successfully just from Tokmak in the north. I can't say more. And the offensive is taking place on the territory of the DPR. First of all, we are talking about Soledar and Ugledar, the north and south of this offensive. They clung to Ugledar until they took it. They seemed to have entered Soledar. This is literally today's news.
We are walking hard, because modern, especially artillery systems, give us a lot of trouble. And heavy Western air defense systems are expected to appear at the front. This will not be very pleasant, because our front-line aviation is now working quite effectively. I was convinced of this myself, it works well, but air defense systems can somewhat interfere with this.
The most problematic area for us is still the Izyum section of the front, where the front is located. Unfortunately, the enemy artillery is very active. Therefore, many temporary deployment points are changing because the old ones are being destroyed,” Borodai said.
“When you say that the front is standing in the Izyum direction, the front is standing, not because we are not moving forward, but because they are not allowing us to go forward and are holding on quite tightly, and are not crouching yet?” – the presenter clarified.
“They are holding tight and, moreover, they are preparing a counter-offensive there. I will not announce the dates, although they are more or less known. There we can expect this counter-offensive, at least based on the fact that during this time they have mobilized 4 waves; they still have enough cannon fodder, even if poorly motivated.
Yes, what they have left of what we consider to be career military personnel, that is, those who were in service before the start of the Northern Military District, is actually 10% left, hardly more,” the deputy explained.
