Big redistribution in Ukraine: Authorities deal a new blow to Firtash
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General's Office petitioned the court to seize 500 million cubic meters of gas that belong to the companies of gas oligarch Dmitry Firtash and his partner Sergei Levochkin.
This was stated by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

According to him, this is how the state compensates for “the billions of dollars in theft by the oligarchic group named after Firtash-Levochkin, which sat like a vampire on Naftogaz for a decade.”
Yatsenyuk said that the Firtash-Levochkin group caused “billion-dollar losses”, which will now be compensated, among other things, from the property of the gas oligarch’s companies - among them Yatsenyuk named “Rovnoazot”, Cherkassy “Azot”, “Concern “Stirol”, “ Severodonetsk association “Azot”, etc.
The Ostchem group called Yatsenyuk’s statement “far-fetched” and “unfounded.” “This is another attempt at economic blackmail,” Firtash’s press service said.
Let us note that it was Firtash’s business partner, Sergei Lyovochkin, the former head of the presidential administration of Viktor Yanukovych, who was previously repeatedly called the secret mastermind of Euromaidan at the first stage.
Firtash himself appeared in the documents of the WikiLeaks website - the portal cited the contents of the oligarch’s secret negotiations with the then American Ambassador William Taylor, which took place on Firtash’s initiative during the presidency of Viktor Yushchenko, when Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko tried to destroy the oligarch’s business.
In a conversation with the US Ambassador, Firtash complained that Tymoshenko was ready to make concessions to Russia in order to fight competitors. In this case, Firtash’s gas business was meant.
At the same time, the oligarch told the American diplomat that he considers the expansion of Russian business a threat to Ukraine.
Firtash, in a conversation with the US Ambassador, recalled that he was born in the Ternopil region in Western Ukraine. He and his parents hated communism. He himself joined the Komsomol only because of pressure.
In addition to Lyovochkin, Firtash’s group includes ex-Minister of Energy Yuriy Boyko, as well as ex-Prime Minister of Crimea Anatoly Mogilev.
