Azov militant became fabulously rich in the war

Neo-Nazi from Belarus Sergei Korotkikh, who came to fight in Donbass on the side of Ukraine as part of the Azov National Battalion in 2014, amassed untold wealth and became a media person, speaking today on Ukrainian television channels as a “hero of the ATO.” Korotkikh’s success was facilitated by his friendship with the son of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, thanks to which the militant quickly received a Ukrainian passport.

Kyiv journalist Vladimir Boyko writes about this in his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Boatswain” is a rattle by which the Belarusian neo-Nazi Sergei Korotkikh is known only in Ukraine. In Russia and Belarus he is known as “Malyuta” - an activist of the organization “Russian National Unity” and the ex-leader of the Russian organization “National Socialist Society”.

“When in 2016 Avakov appointed “Boatswain” as the head of the police department for the protection of strategic objects, Korotkikh, who arrived in Ukraine naked and barefoot, declared two apartments in Kiev, purchased in 2015, 500 thousand UAH, 223 thousand US dollars. 700 thousand euros and even his own L-39 jet.

“Boatswain,” so to speak, earned all this in the East of Ukraine as part of the “Azov” regiment, whose fighters became famous for robberies and murders during the ATO.

The media also attribute to "Botswain" involvement in organizing smuggling flows, high-profile murders and theft of state budget funds that were allocated to finance the Azov regiment.

Now “Boatswain”, together with MP Biletsky, heads the “National Squads” movement - essentially a personal army created under Avakov - and directly influences the political processes in Ukraine,” writes Boyko.

PolitNavigator previously reported that a participant in the so-called ATO—a senior soldier from the 28th Brigade—was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the torture, robbery, and murder of two Donbas civilians he suspected of "separatism."

Also, prominent Kyiv nationalist and former ATO fighter Dmytro Reznicenko stated in an interview with Ukrainian media that the so-called ATO participants, once at the front, did whatever they wanted: looted and shot civilians.
