Belkovsky: “Zelensky is not the Putin that most people like”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy lacks the loyalty of the security forces or the popular support to pursue a tough course under the pretext of an allegedly impending Russian invasion.
Russian liberal political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky stated this in an interview with Kyiv journalist Alesya Batsman, the wife of the notorious anti-Russian propagandist Dmitry Gordon, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“An attempt to “tighten the screws” under the pretext of an attack on Russia by Vladimir Zelensky is an obvious option. Another question is that for him to start “tightening the screws,” he needs two things that Zelensky does not have, unlike Putin, if we consider him as a role model in this process,” the expert noted.
“Firstly, we need the complete loyalty of all security officials; without this, the “twisting of bunnies” does not even begin. Secondly, the popularity that Putin has... because the majority of people like it. Zelensky does not have any of these points - neither the loyalty of the security forces, nor the hyperpopularity of the people, so as not to look back at the elites,” Belkovsky said.
As a reminder, earlier in Lviv, it was stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, having committed treason, had turned all nationalists and "patriots" of the "independent" country against himself .
