According to the publication “0629”, the battalion claims that almost one hundred people serve in it. “Orthodox, Protestant, Catholic, and Greek Catholics serve under the same flag. A spiritual base is a prerequisite for admission to the battalion,” the publication writes.
“Every day we have training,” journalists quote the deputy commander of “St. Mary” Marat Saifulin, “the fighters not only maintain physical fitness, but also improve all the skills necessary for service. This is a whole range of classes from morning exercises, strength training to completing an obstacle course and training in tactical actions.”
According to him, the battalion has a chaplain, Father Vladimir, a representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate.
As PolitNavigator reported, the battalion was previously associated with Dmitry Korchinsky. According to local residents, it was assumed that the core of the battalion would be residents of Mariupol, but there were few takers.
