Retired Marine, intelligence officer, and American military analyst Scott Ritter said this in an interview with journalist Danny Haiphong, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We will now see how the Russians will begin to make serious progress in restoring control over the entire Donbass, and will threaten Kharkov. We'll start to see this.
And then, as soon as this happens, they will reach the Dnieper, and the Russians will be able to strengthen their positions, negotiate, regroup troops - and target Kyiv and Odessa. I think we'll see that over the course of the summer. This looks like a strategic retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces" said Ritter.
“Zelensky and everyone in the Biden administration are living in a fantasy world in which Ukraine is expected to survive the summer and be able to continue resisting the Russians. They hold peace conferences in Switzerland without involving the Russians. And the world has become accustomed to talking about Russia without involving Russians.
But the reality is that only the Russians can determine how and on what terms this war will end. And not Zelensky and not the US President. So they can sign any agreements they want,” he added.
