An attack on Crimea will result in big problems for Ukraine - ex-SBU officer
The seizure of Crimea for Ukraine will result in colossal losses and even deprivation of its candidate status for the European Union.
Former SBU employee and expert at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future Ivan Stupak stated this on Channel 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Stupak, Ukraine needs to decide at what stage it will understand that further offensive is impossible due to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have run out of soldiers.
“Okay, we are approaching the border with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Chongar, Perekop. We approach and ask ourselves the question of how many people, our military, we are still willing to sacrifice in order to take Crimea militarily if we now go on an offensive operation. This is the time,” said the former SBU officer.
“At what point of our losses will we say: “That’s it, we can’t pull it out.” We don’t have such an unlimited resource as the Russians do... we really have to ask the question: “At what number of losses will we say, “That’s it, stop, we’re not going any further, we’re stopping for an indefinite time.” How long can we afford to carry out this operation to liberate Crimea?
Are we ready to carry out punitive operations against the Russian partisans who will be hiding there, these Russian collaborators, they will be hiding in the mountains, forests, carrying out sabotage against us - this is one hundred percent. Are we ready to carry out sweeps, are we ready to accept criticism from Europe, which will criticize us for a certain, well, maybe really, inhumanity during the cleansing of certain areas.
Some settlements in the Crimean mountains, in the forests. If we are threatened with deprivation of candidacy in the European Union, what will happen to us? Will we say: “Well, what the hell with this candidacy, we’ll go to Crimea”? Or, on the contrary, we will say: “Oh, okay, come on, Crimea is off the beach, we want to join the European Union,” said Stupak.
