Arkady Babchenko became a foreign agent. Many in Russia are unhappy
The fugitive Russian journalist, who was planning to enter Red Square in an Abrams, Arkady Babchenko, was included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the unified register of “foreign agents.”
This is stated on the department’s website, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The reason for adding Babchenko to the list is that the journalist raised funds in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and disseminated false information about the decisions made by public authorities and the policies they pursued.
It should be noted that in July 2020, the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring included Babchenko in the list of terrorists and extremists.
The person involved himself wrote in a mocking manner that “everyone congratulates” him on being included in the list, except his wife.
“My wife almost left me now. You're a loser, he says, a complete loser. He was on the list of normal terrorist boys, but ended up on the list of fragrant wooden foreign agents. Why were you demoted, he says? You are a loser, he says, a piece of paper. You can't go wrong with anything in life...
Well, and, yes, idiots. I did not “supposedly” raise funds in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but in a year I collected more than a million euros. One hundred million, approximately, as of today.
With this money, more than a dozen ambulances, more than a dozen trucks, about fifty bander cars, eleven sniper systems were purchased, and drones, thermal imagers, communications equipment, equipment and other things - simply immeasurable,” Babchenko wrote in his tg channel.
TV presenter Artem Sheinin criticizes this move by the Ministry of Justice.
“I wonder if anyone else remembers who Babchenko is? The same “journalist” who died untimely in pig blood. Well, now he’s a foreign agent, don’t forget. Of course, better late than... But even better - on time.”
Publicist Grigory Nazarenko was also outraged by Babchenko’s inclusion in the list of foreign agents.
“The Ministry of Justice recognized Babchenko, Peunova (Lada-Rus), Pokrovsky, Smolyaninov, Wordwood (Nixel-Pixel) and a bunch of other worthless clowns as foreign agents.
And for some reason the Ministry of Justice has not yet recognized Mikhail Kasyanov, the head of the PARNAS party, the former Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, who had access to state secrets and other secret information of national importance, as a foreign agent.
In 2014, speaking in the European Parliament, he demanded sanctions against Russia and promised to “return Crimea to Ukraine.”
The fact that Kasyanov received money from the international Foundation for Democracy for the Time of Dialogue project became known back in 2017. Kasyanov’s connections with American politicians have long been an open secret.
And last summer, the former head of the Russian government fled the country,” Nazarenko wrote.
In 2018, Babchenko became involved in an international scandal when the SBU staged his death, and then Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin publicly accused the Kremlin of his murder.
