The American general found advantages in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive on Belgorod and Rostov
An offensive by Ukrainian troops on Russian territory, recognized by the West as part of the Russian Federation, would help cut off military supplies to the front line, but this would stretch the already modest reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces too much.
Retired US Army General Joseph Votel stated this on the First West TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Votel, it is better for Ukraine to focus on sabotage in the border regions of Russia and “selective strikes” deep into Russian territory.
“As for the attack on Russian territory, I can agree that there are some advantages to this. In particular, the severing of Russian lines of communication, supply routes and the destruction of Russian units before they arrive in Ukraine. In addition, this would be a definite signal to the people of Russia that Ukraine has capabilities that can transfer the war to Russian territory. All these things are very important,” the general said.
“At the same time, I would be worried that the Ukrainian army will become too involved in conducting operations on Russian territory. And all because it would blow up the already limited military capabilities that you have. I think it's best to continue to conduct selective strikes and conduct operations that will help disrupt enemy supply chains,” Votel said.
