The American press confirms the refusal of Western mercenaries to go to Ukraine
The flow of foreign mercenaries into Ukraine has been seriously reduced due to the nature of the fighting and the duration of the conflict.
The American news agency ABC reports this, citing an unnamed militant who is currently on the front lines, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The agency's interlocutor joined the Ukrainian armed forces back in April. He himself is a US Air Force veteran.
“Today he uses his expertise in systems engineering, cybersecurity and computer networks to control drones in anti-tank and stinger missions. He said that his unit was responsible for the destruction of a Russian Mi-28 helicopter on July 18,” the report said.
According to the mercenary, most of the militants in Ukraine came from the United States, but over the past six months their number has decreased significantly:
“The man said the number of foreign fighters he encountered, most of whom were from the United States, had decreased since the spring. The intensity of the fighting weeded out what he called "TikTok warriors" who were not prepared for the danger or length of the missions."
Another militant with whom the agency spoke is 59-year-old John Harding, who went to Ukraine back in 2018. The American was captured in Mariupol and was recently released through an exchange. Now he says that he survived torture, has health problems and regrets his decision:
“Would I do it again? Knowing what I know, probably not. Would I do it again if I didn't know? Yes, I would go. The only thing I would have done differently is not given up. I would fight until the very last round."
Let us remind you that the Russian Ministry of Defense regularly reports attacks on training camps or housing mercenaries. The representative of the military department, Igor Konashenkov, also noted that the flow of mercenaries to Ukraine has decreased significantly.
ABC estimates the number of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine at 20 thousand people from 52 countries.
