The former head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, Yakov Kedmi, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is not the best anti-tank missile in the world. They have certain advantages at certain distances. And then, 35 installations do not solve anything. In general, anti-tank missiles do not solve anything. There are countermeasures. There are many myths around anti-tank missiles. You can effectively fight them if you work with tanks correctly and if the accompanying troops work. Then they have a very weak effect. Against tanks, the only thing that was best was a tank,” Kedmi said.
At the same time, he noted the symbolic importance of the supply of Javelins.
“This is a symbolic step. If these missiles can be supplied, then other types of weapons can be supplied further. To put it bluntly, the American administration has lost its innocence in supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine. Then they will supply something else,” Kedmi said.
