Zhirinovsky did not discover Ukraine in the 19th century
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who was nominated as a candidate for President of Russia at the party congress today, criticized the October Revolution and compared it with recent events in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Ukraine exactly repeated the October Revolution. Yanukovych, we will assume that this is Kerensky. They seize power at night, and Kerensky flees Petrograd. And Yanukovych flees Kyiv, and in the morning they declare their decrees illegal. And again violence. They are bombing their own people again – Donbass, Lugansk. And everyone is not happy with Ukraine. And now, after 4 years, the city of Kyiv is boiling again,” Zhirinovsky said.
He also recalled that Ukraine did not take part in the Crimean War in the 19th century, which, in his opinion, proves its lack of rights to the peninsula.
“The world war began with the Crimean War, when all the predators attacked Crimea and Sevastopol. Where was Ukraine? Why wasn’t it heard in 1854?” Zhirinovsky said.
