The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is transferring its employees in Kyiv to an enhanced duty regime on May 9 in order to “prevent violation of quarantine measures” or “the appearance of communist symbols.”
This was reported by the press service of Arsen Avakov’s department, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The police will carry out explanatory work with citizens on observing quarantine restrictions and prohibiting the use of symbols of totalitarian regimes,” the message says.
Due to the fact that an action is planned to be held in the Park of Eternal Glory in Kyiv on May 9, a situation center began operating at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, which included not only police officers, but also representatives of other specialized services and departments.
The head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kiev, Andrey Krischenko, said that all participants in the event will be thoroughly searched, and what is happening at the rally will be monitored online
“In order to prevent provocations and violations of law and order, before the start of the action, explosives experts and dog handlers will carefully check the place where the event will take place. In addition, at specially established checkpoints, employees will conduct a superficial inspection of visitors. Therefore, we ask you to be understanding about preventive measures, because all this is necessary to ensure safety,” he said.
