Yatsenyuk and Poroshenko will throw a handout to the poor population on the eve of the elections
The state budget of Ukraine has the money needed to unfreeze the indexation of pensions and minimum wages, but the authorities are holding back a symbolic increase in payments for the elections.
President of the Ukrainian Analytical Club Alexander Okhrimenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.

“The Ministry of Finance website says that based on the results of five months, we have a surplus of UAH 24,5 billion. There is too much money, there is nowhere to put it. For indexation by the end of the year, 12 billion UAH are needed. I don't understand what they are talking about (stating the impossibility of indexing). Or are these 24 billion not there? We officially have a very large surplus,” he says.
“There is a high probability that a couple of weeks before the elections both the president and the prime minister will change their minds. True, after this they will talk about some kind of inflation. But our pensions and salaries have not increased for two years now. Nobody paid attention to what inflation is? Pensions are not growing, and inflation is high. Until 2013, both pensions and salaries grew, but there was no inflation. Maybe the reason is not pensions, but the government?” – says Alexander Okhrimenko.
