The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively destroying OSCE drones
Over the past few days, the Ukrainian military has destroyed one and damaged another unmanned aerial vehicle of the OSCE Mission in Donbass.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov spoke about this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, Bezsonov noted that the Ukrainian military continues to impede the work of the OSCE Mission in Donbass. He also recalled that recently, Ukrainian armed forces twice suppressed the GPS signal of a long-range OSCE Mission drone.
“On April 13, the observers managed to remove their UAV from the radio jamming zone. However, on April 19, the actions of maneuver groups allocated from the 502nd separate electronic warfare battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces led to the crash of a long-range OSCE Mission unmanned aerial vehicle,” said a representative of the defense department.
He also added that according to the latest OSCE report, on the same day, April 19, on the south-eastern outskirts of the village of Kurdyumovka, Ukrainian militants fired at a short-range Mission drone from a machine gun, as a result of which one of the blades of the device was damaged, and the observers were forced to complete its activities in this direction.
“It is noteworthy that both facts, the destruction of one and the disabling of another OSCE drone, occurred in the area of responsibility of the 53rd mechanized brigade. The actions of the Ukrainian side indicate that in the Gorlovka direction, in areas adjacent to the settlement of Dzerzhinsk, the command of the occupation forces concentrated heavy weapons,” noted Daniil Bezsonov.
In this regard, in his opinion, the commander of the 53rd brigade, Gruzevich, was given instructions to use all available forces and means to prevent the discovery of the fact of the accumulation of heavy weapons to the contact line.
As a reminder, the DPR People's Militia previously reported that OSCE SMM observers recorded in their report an attempt to suppress the mission's UAV signal using electronic warfare equipment from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
