UPA warriors are subject to criminal prosecution, MGIMO expert
Today it is realistic to initiate a criminal case regarding the involvement of UPA veterans in the crimes of fascism. Alexander Vylegzhanin, head of the department of international law at MGIMO, stated this at a press conference in Moscow.

“The fact that today UPA veterans organize processions with Hitler’s orders technically makes their identification easier. Strictly speaking, law enforcement agencies have the right to initiate criminal investigations to check this individual who is marching for involvement in crimes committed during the Second World War. There is no statute of limitations here. This is a legal reality,” Vylegzhanin said.
At the same time, he emphasized that the issue of extradition of criminals is resolved on the basis of international treaties and depends on the political will of the state.
