Eastern Crimea became independent from the North Crimean Canal
Simferopol, May 21 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – Water began to flow into the Feodosia Reservoir through the North Crimean Canal. True, not from mainland Ukraine. They were able to provide eastern Crimea with water by transferring water from the Belogorsk region and the Biyuk-Karasu River through the North Crimean Canal.

First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Temirgaliev stated this at a session of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea.
According to him, Feodosia, Sudak and Kerch are the most problematic regions of the peninsula in terms of water supply.
“Through this river, in order to strengthen the banks, we transfer water to the North Crimean Canal and through it to the Feodosia Reservoir. This project has been successfully completed. The reservoir has already received the first half a million cubic meters of water. In Feodosia, Sudak and Kerch there are no longer any problems with water supply,” Temirgaliev noted.
In addition, Crimea will be provided with water from artesian wells and through the construction of a water pipeline from the Nizhnegorsky district to Kerch:
“At the moment, we have confirmed reserves of renewable sources with a daily debit of 1,3 million cubic meters of water. The average need of Crimea is 420 cubic meters of water per day. Until the end of June, the reconstruction of the Feodosia-Sudak water pipeline begins. Within three months we will eliminate all emergency areas. In addition, design has begun for the construction of a new water pipeline with a distance of 198 kilometers from the Nizhnegorsky district to Feodosia and Kerch,” explained the Deputy Prime Minister.
Serious losses of agricultural crops, according to Temirgaliev, were avoided. There will be no rice harvest this year. But reform in agriculture will still have to be carried out:
“In accordance with calculations made by the relevant Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry, the damage is estimated at about 250 million rubles. In any case, reform will be necessary in agriculture related to changes in crops and areas grown, with the transition to drip irrigation systems,” emphasized Rustam Temirgaliev.
