The head of the Department of Transport, Communications and Tourism, Sergei Litvinov, stated this in the STV channel program “We Decide Together.”
“We are all waiting for a solution to this issue, we are waiting for when we will be able to fly comfortably from Belbek airport. A group of specialists is working on this problem. Everyone in this group are like-minded people who are in favor of launching a civil airport as quickly as possible,” Litvinov said.
At the same time, he noted that “we are experiencing resistance from army officials,” who are categorically against the joint use of the airfield by military and civilians.
Litvinov cited the words of a certain Major Tokarczuk: “I don’t care about the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, you won’t get Belbek airport.”
“It is because of such majors that we resolve issues for so long and for a long time. Papers are passed around, not signed, not agreed upon. As a result, the entire city suffers. We turned to the relevant authorities so that they give a legal assessment of the statements of Major Tokarczuk, who decides the fate of the city,” the head of the department emphasized.
Let us remind you that in June the acting Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo announced the creation of the state airline Sevastopolavia, which will be based at the Belbek airfield. The investment project should be implemented with the participation of the city government and with the support of Rosaviatsia.
