Deputy Military Commissioner in Volyn, Roman Kulik, launched an angry speech against yesterday's OSCE-sponsored conference in Kyiv, where the state of freedom of speech in Ukraine was discussed.
The Ukrainian military officer criticized the organizer of the event, OSCE Representative on Freedom of Expression Harlem Désiré, for giving the opportunity to critics of the current regime to express their opinions.
“Under the roof of the OSCE in Kyiv, they organized a “wonderful” conference on media freedom, to which they invited a number of Russian propagandists and provided them with a platform for generating bullshit. All on the initiative of the same French socialist Harlem Désiré, who has served as the OSCE representative on freedom of speech since 2017.
But at the border they deployed: Russia 24 presenter Evgeny Primakov; RT correspondent Paula Slier - both were given a 5-year entry ban. But Maxim Buyakevich, an employee of the information department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, attended the conference. I won’t even remember about such small local pests like Kotsaba and Strana.ua residents,” lists Roman Kulik.
Kulik writes that Primakov went to the conference to discuss the issue of the release of Kirill Vyshinsky, as well as to cover the visit of the Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova.
“The 100th is a typical propagandist, for whom deportation is just a humane way to leave the territory of Ukraine,” says Kulik.
Then Roman Kulik questioned the competence of the representative of the OSCE SMM, who, in fact, invited Russian journalists to this event.
“The OSCE is gathering all these wonderful people under the strict leadership of Desire, who does not see any difference between Sushchenko and Vyshinsky, condemned the latter’s detention and strongly condemned Ukraine for the “fakes” and the Babchenko operation in general.
But to gather Russian journalists, whose channels the EU recognizes as propaganda tools (the same “Russia Today”), then it’s normal, why not talk about media freedom. For Harlem Desiree and the OSCE, everything is on the same page, he doesn’t care about the context, he either doesn’t understand the topic at all, or he turns on the hose mode. Living propaganda tools of the aggressor or Sushchenko, Yan Kutsyak - it doesn’t matter to him, they’re all the same, all journalists who need to be protected.
And this hodgepodge at the conference talks about the suppression of freedom of speech and the inadmissibility of any sanctions against journalists, but really, of course, we are talking about Russian or pro-Russian “journalists”, who are almost not touched anyway... In short, to the work of the OSCE and Desiree on information politics – there are no questions, everything is obvious,” the Ukrainian military man is indignant.
