In the Rada, a pack of thieves met in the duty room
The head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction, Artur Gerasimov, and the leader of Batkivshchyna, Yulia Tymoshenko, staged another skirmish, accusing each other of increasing gas tariffs for residents of Ukraine.
The incident occurred during a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Unfortunately, the majority in parliament is the mafia. Today, six factions signed a draft resolution to cancel the 23,5% increase in gas prices, to give Ukrainians gas produced in Ukraine, and then to introduce a moratorium on any increase in tariffs. Unfortunately, this vital resolution is not only not put to a vote in this rotten hall, but they are not even given the command to the relevant committee to consider it, because in this hall they do not think about the people. We demand that the increase in gas prices be cancelled, and that parliament examine the corruption of Naftogaz, the president and his entire entourage regarding the illegal setting of gas prices,” Tymoshenko said.
“The problem exists, but once again I want to remind you, maybe someone has forgotten that the previous governments, I will not name the prime ministers, collected more than 70 billion and transferred them to us to pay off debts, and not in hryvnias, but in US dollars. Or maybe someone forgot who, in 2008, as prime minister and who is now present in this room, signed a memorandum with the IMF on equalizing prices for Ukrainian-produced gas and prices for imported gas, which means an increase in gas prices. Therefore, let’s call a spade a spade,” Gerasimov replied.
As a result, the presidential candidate switched to open accusations, calling President Poroshenko, Gerasimov and the BPP headed by him a mafia.
“I would like to draw attention to what Mr. Gerasimov just said, who leads a pack of thieves in parliament, which today covers up all the corruption of President Poroshenko, all the corrupt tariffs on natural gas. This is a mafia led by the president and Mr. Gerasimov,” Tymoshenko said.
At the same time, Gerasimov also got personal and reminded Tymoshenko of the results of her work as prime minister.
“During my previous speech, I did not name specific names, but now I want to say that it was Yulia Vladimirovna Tymoshenko who collected and passed on $24 billion to the next generations. It was she who signed the memorandum with the IMF exactly 10 years ago,” Gerasimov retorted.
Earlier, Gerasimov and Tymoshenko clashed in the Rada over DPR militia commander Igor Bezler.
PolitNavigator cited energy market expert Dmitry Marunich as saying that, due to constantly rising gas and electricity tariffs, residents of Ukrainian villages are switching to heating with wood and peat.
