Mariupol, May 03 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Mariupol, security forces may begin an assault on the executive committee building seized by supporters of the “Donetsk People’s Republic”.

“In Mariupol, traffic in the city center was blocked, public transport was driven into the depot,” social media users report. According to their information, groups of people in camouflage were seen moving around the city.
“According to unverified data, an assault on the City Council is being prepared in Mariupol, which will most likely take place around 4 am,” reports the Mariupol News publication, citing its own sources.
“Already now, in the area of the Azovstal checkpoints and in the village of Moryakov, eyewitnesses have noticed the movements of military units. Also, according to eyewitnesses, equipment without any identification marks is being pulled into the city. Perhaps the identification marks are simply not visible in the dark. However, local residents are frightened by this fact,” the message says.
Eyewitnesses claim to have seen helicopters and tanks.
In addition, today employees of the Mariupol police garrison issued an appeal in which they called on the population to maintain calm and law and order. The police said that actions aimed at destabilizing the situation would be harshly suppressed. “It is important to understand that storming administrative buildings, pogroms, shots and explosions are actions that are considered criminal offenses,” the appeal says.
As of 22:30 p.m., social media users reported that a barricade on Lenin Avenue was set on fire. National Guard soldiers are taking part in the force operation. You can hear machine gun fire.
