The commander of the East Kazakhstan region, Lieutenant General Alexander Golovko, stated this in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
“Special attention is paid to the restoration of the grouping of the Aerospace Defense Forces on the territory of the Crimean Federal District. The geographic location of Crimea provides great advantages for solving problems of space control and spacecraft control,” the military leader noted.
According to him, infrastructure facilities, weapons and military equipment of the Sevastopol and Evpatoria hubs were brought by Ukraine to a deplorable state:
“This was one of the reasons for refusing to use information from the Dnepr radar (missile attack warning system - PolitNavigator) in the missile attack warning system,” the commander noted.
Alexander Golovko said that this year the final formation of a separate command and measurement complex in Yevpatoria is being completed: “Delivery of modern weapons and military equipment, including promising space control systems, has begun. A decision was made to restore the missile attack warning system. Currently, the work of a joint commission with industry representatives has been organized to determine specific measures to extend the service life (technical resource) of the radar in Sevastopol.”
