This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Simferopol by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Crimea, Alexander Basov.
According to him, during 2014 the number of entrepreneurs in the republic decreased “by several times.”
“Some believe that it (the transition period - PolitNavigator) ended successfully. Unfortunately, I cannot say so optimistically about this, since the numbers tell a completely different story. During the transition period, we lost a significant number of small businesses. If we had about 120 thousand private entrepreneurs at the beginning of 2014, then at the beginning of 2015 we have 24-25 thousand, if we talk about legal entities, then we had about 20-25 thousand of them, but now I think that their number has also decreased significantly. Most likely, all these people are now queuing at the employment center,” said the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In his opinion, compared to Russian business, Crimean business is now in worse economic conditions. It is necessary to create a special climate for it until the bridge across the Kerch Strait is put into operation. According to him, the Crimean Chamber of Commerce and Industry has already prepared proposals that can help Crimean business. In particular, introduce tax holidays for all individuals and legal entities for two years, as well as introduce a moratorium on penalties from regulatory authorities.
“Our proposals were sent to the relevant ministries, which supported us, and leading business organizations in Russia also supported us. These issues will be discussed in the State Council of Crimea and it is necessary for the government of the republic to go to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, because it is necessary to make appropriate changes to the tax code,” explained Alexander Basov.
