In Kyiv they admitted: Russia survived, sanctions did not tear the economy to shreds
Over the past three years, Russia has turned into a country that can not only “contradict the United States,” but without which it is impossible to solve world problems. Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky said this on air at UkrLife.

According to him, all statements that sanctions “torn the Russian economy to shreds” were not justified.
“The attitude towards the Russian state has changed qualitatively. If a few years ago no one took it seriously that Russia could not just contradict the United States, but could insist on its position and implement this position against the wishes of the United States or force them to agree. As it was, for example, in order to remove chemical weapons from Syria... Three years ago, the president of the most powerful country in the world said that the Russian economy was destroyed to shreds by sanctions. Moreover, it is some kind of regional power. So what? Shattered to pieces? Well, it suffered some serious problems, however, it has already reached zero growth. Mainly not because of American sanctions, but because of falling oil prices. But it is not important. The important thing is that no one doubts that world problems cannot be solved without Russia,” Pogrebinsky said.
