With the help of explosions at military warehouses in Balakleya, the Ukrainian government is trying to cover up those who plundered the arsenals.
This assumption was made by Ukrainian political scientist Alexander Semchenko in his video blog, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
He compared the current explosions at warehouses in Balakleya with last year, noting that last year the explosions were much stronger, and suggesting that a year earlier the number of “written off” shells was much greater than this year.
The expert recalled that Ukraine received 210 Javelin ATGMs and 37 launchers for them for a total of $47 million, clarifying that he does not understand how such a quantity will stop “thousands of Russian tanks that Turchynov spoke about.”
“Two hundred and ten anti-tank missiles - spit and grind. A fireman like this is, in principle, comparable to the volume. Just a little bit of smoke, just a little bit of explosions. It's not at all comparable to what happened last year. So last year, thefts were hidden on a completely different scale, not a one-time delivery, but theft over, if not decades, then at least several years,” Semchenko commented on the video of explosions at military warehouses in Balakleya.
“These fires, in Balakleya in particular, in Kalinovka, Donetsk region, near Bakhmut - there were actually a lot of explosions - each of these fires fulfilled its function. The main function is to cover up those who plundered warehouses. That's what I think. My subjective opinion,” said the political scientist.
He also recalled that no one was punished for negligence for the previous explosions.
