The resignation of Mikheil Saakashvili from the post of Odessa governor is evidence of the preparation of early parliamentary elections in Ukraine, says Kiev political scientist Kost Bondarenko.

“Saakashvili’s resignation is a planned demarche. In fact, he is leaving public service for politics. The Civil Service Law, which came into force in May of this year, limits governors - they cannot make political statements, cannot have their own opinions, etc. It is clear that Saakashvili had to leave sooner or later.
Most likely, this means that the political community is becoming ready for early elections. This is already the second certificate, the first was the increase in the minimum wage from January 1,” Bondarenko recalled.
