Dodon is assured that Russia does not recognize Transnistria
The problem of Transnistria can only be resolved within the framework of the common Moldavian space. Moldovan political scientist Vladimir Bucarsky, who worked for Igor Dodon’s headquarters in the last presidential elections, stated this at a meeting of the Byzantine Club.

“We must be realistic: today there is no need to talk about any recognition of Pridnestrovie. If only because it is technically impossible to ensure this at the moment, because, unlike Crimea, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and the Donbass republics, Pridnestrovie is completely cut off from mainland Russia,” Bukarsky said.
He recalled that “the only window connecting Pridnestrovie with Russia remains the Kishinev airport.”
“If independence is recognized, this window will be completely closed and walled up. Even if the airport in Tiraspol is restored, it will not be able to accommodate a single plane,” Bukarsky said.
At the same time, the political scientist emphasized that the forms of solving the problem of Transnistria can be different.
“But Pridnestrovie must have a status that allows it to influence the foreign and domestic policies of Moldova. At the same time, Russian peacekeepers must remain in the region until the conflict is finally resolved,” Bukarsky said.
Dodon insists that Russia will not recognize Transnistria.
