Trump defended Ukraine. Putin promises to extend gas contract

Russia may extend the transit contract with Ukraine in 2019. Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters about this following his talks with US President Donald Trump in Helsinki.

“President Trump expressed concern about the possible disappearance of transit through Ukraine. I assured Mr. President that Russia will maintain this transit. Moreover, we are ready to extend the transit contract, which expires next year, if the dispute between economic entities with the Stockholm Arbitration Court is resolved,” Putin said.
