Ukraine cannot put the issue of abandoning the uncontrolled part of Donbass to a referendum, because this would be the start of the legal collapse of the country. The representative of Ukraine in the Minsk Contact Group, Olga Aivazovskaya, stated this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech”.

“The problem is that this is a precedent for giving up territory at will. And we must understand that in the next 5-10 years, Ukraine will be Kyiv and part of central Ukraine and that’s it,” Aivazovskaya said.
Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Victoria Syumar spoke in support of holding a referendum on the status of Crimea and Donbass.
