The United States can agree with Russia on the division of “spheres of influence” and give Ukraine away – Cohen
Although the current US government is not inclined to share spheres of influence with Russia, this could still happen, and then Ukraine would move into Russia’s sphere of influence.
Ariel Cohen, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, Director of the Energy and Security Program at the International Center for Tax and Investment, and founder of the firm International Market Analysis, stated this on air on Ukrlife.tv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Today the political life of the United States is so polarized that if some forces that we can identify with Trump return to the White House in 2024 or 2028, they can talk about spheres of influence, because they are realists. It is unacceptable for democrats to say the words “spheres of influence” in a positive context, but I do not rule out that they can agree, including on the status of Ukraine and Belarus - “we don’t touch you here, you don’t touch us there.” I admit this, although I would say that it is less than 50% that this will be agreed upon.
On the Russian side, of course, there will be an attempt to negotiate the entire post-Soviet space, with the exception of the Baltic states, for itself. We see that they are doing this by creating a system that closes access to the Black Sea basin, that is, this is Crimea, this is the Black Sea Fleet. They are also creating two more such bastions, this is Syria and this is the Baltic, the Baltic states and Kaliningrad. Now draw a line from Kaliningrad to Homs - such a line de facto builds the Russian distant border, which they will try to protect and control,” the expert believes.
