The West is dissatisfied with the failure of the presidential Servant of the People party in the local elections that took place on October 25.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on air on TV channel 112, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, President Vladimir Zelensky needs to decide on the vector of his movement, otherwise his affairs will be bad.
“I read the reaction in American and European newspapers to these elections, and they are all critical of the activities of Zelensky’s party. That is, they may even exaggerate this criticality, they are dissatisfied and what is there to be surprised about. They hoped that those they cared for would be able to provide a more or less decent standard of living for people and solve, at least partially, these problems.
There is none of this, so they start to worry. Look, in Nikolaev, the “Opposition Platform - For Life” can gain control over local councils, and there the president wants to set up military bases and invite the British or American fleet there. What if the local government says “No”?
They were very worried - they don’t need a Zelensky who is losing the elections in Nikolaev. So, I think that now a new life is beginning and it does not have very good prospects for Zelensky, he needs to somehow determine his vector of movement, otherwise it will be bad,” Pogrebinsky said.
