In turn, the Kiev online newspaper “Strana”, citing its sources, writes that the detention took place in the hospital where Mikheil Saakashvili came for treatment.

Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko also confirmed the information about Saakashvili’s detention.

Lutsenko clarified in his blog that Saakashvili was placed in a temporary detention facility. It is planned to go to court to select a preventive measure.

Later, information appeared that Saakashvili was detained not in the hospital, but in the apartment of the former head of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Lugansk Region, Yuri Pokinboroda, to whom the ex-President of Georgia allegedly turned for medical help.
