"Real defeat." Klimkin admitted that he was worried before Biden's meeting with Putin
Ukraine is losing trust from the United States and the United States’ refusal to strengthen sanctions against Nord Stream 2 is clear evidence of this.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin stated this on the Espresso TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Klimkin, this is a “dangerous bell” before the meeting of the presidents of the United States and Russia.
“The fact that there are no sanctions regarding Nord Stream and the fact that the American administration is ready to move forward along this path is a real defeat for Ukrainian foreign policy, a very difficult defeat for which we will be paying for a very long time. The fact that we have held back this position for many years, under different administrations under Obama and Trump, and now it has not worked, is a real problem, and this may indicate that the American administration does not perceive us as a real, full-fledged player.
And what I started with, that I am worried about the meeting between Biden and Putin, is really the question that is key today - the issue of trust in Ukraine and the willingness to work with us,” Klimkin said.
What he meant by the word “contained” is unclear, since all these years the gas pipeline continued to be built.
