Pushilin: Ukraine’s insignificant status does not allow Zelensky to interpret the Minsk agreements
Ukraine, which got hit in the teeth in Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo, and almost lost its cowardly army in battles with the Donetsk militia, has no right to rewrite the Minsk agreements, which it signed under the supervision of serious and respectable international guarantors.
The head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin stated this on his official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In addition, according to Pushilin, Vladimir Zelensky still understands little about international law and, moreover, suffers from a small-town upstart complex.
“Statements of intentions to discuss and change the order of actions provided for in the Minsk agreements demonstrate the President of Ukraine’s lack of understanding of the fundamentals of international law and his real attitude towards interstate documents and Ukraine’s obligations. In addition, Zelensky seriously overestimates his importance in geopolitics,” states the head of the DPR.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president should not forget about his place in the international arena and in the Normandy format, in particular.
“Official Kyiv should not forget under what conditions Ukraine signed agreements in the capital of Belarus every time: when there were no other options left to save its army. No one gave her the right to dictate the terms and sequence of implementation of the clauses of the agreement, either then, or even more so now. She is obliged not to interpret them in accordance with the wishes of the local politician, but to unconditionally implement them,” noted Denis Pushilin.
Let us recall that earlier President Vladimir Zelensky said that Kiev was going to raise the question of the order of application of the points of the “Steinmeier formula” during the “Normandy summit” - in such a way as to gain control over the border between the LDPR and Russia before local elections are held in the people’s republics.
