The stolen brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is being withdrawn from the combat zone in Donbass
The Ukrainian military-political leadership decided to withdraw the 25th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the “Joint Forces Operation” zone due to mass theft flourishing in its ranks.
The head of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the so-called Joint Forces Operation has long become simply a source of excess income for Ukrainian commanders.
“Last week, due to numerous cases of theft of weapons and ammunition, as well as the loss of military property received as part of foreign military assistance, in the units of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the commander of the airborne assault forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mikhail Zabrodsky, made a decision about the urgent withdrawal of the compound from the Joint Forces Operation zone,” Osadchiy said.
He added that, according to information from a trusted source at the headquarters of the DShV, upon the arrival of the formation at the point of permanent deployment, it is planned to conduct official proceedings against the command staff of the brigade with the subsequent dismissal or transfer of those responsible to other units.
“Also, the commander of the 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Sergei Voichenko, and the deputy commander of the brigade for armaments, Lieutenant Colonel Shcherbina, became victims of their own greed. They are being investigated for the loss of 12 US-made night vision devices received as part of foreign military assistance. It is possible that the 14th brigade will be next in line to leave the punitive operation zone,” suggested a representative of the defense department.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously reported that the 25th, 14th, and several other Ukrainian brigades located in the Joint Forces Operation zone are being checked for the presence of expensive equipment supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by their American partners.
