The “opposition bloc” is being shamed for its inaction – there are attacks in Kyiv, but where are the “defenders of the Church”?
Opposition deputies and business could ensure the safety of Orthodox activists in Ukraine, but they will not do so.
Political scientist Denis Denisov stated this in an interview with PolitNavigator, commenting on yesterday's attack by the Nazi group C14 on the head of the Union of Orthodox Brotherhoods, Valentin Lukyanik.
“In a good way, a number of deputies of the Opposition bloc, businessmen who seem to position themselves as supporters of the canonical Orthodox Church, could come up with a similar initiative, including providing protection from all sorts of frostbitten elements. But these people are unlikely to do anything, because they believe that they live in a different reality,” Denisov said.
He predicts that the attacks will continue.
“The radicals understand perfectly well that the authorities are interested in this, and they will not bear any responsibility for this. Therefore, they will continue to organize provocations and attacks. The main thing is that it doesn’t lead to murders,” Denisov said.
