Donetsk, January 18 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, announced that the militia had ousted Ukrainian security forces from the village of Peski near Donetsk.

In addition, Zakharchenko spoke about the attack by Ukrainian bombers on the city of Gorlovka with 500-kilogram bombs. According to him, the bombing was not carried out in a targeted manner, RIA Novosti reports.

“Eight militiamen died during the day, 32 were injured, we are preparing to further repel attacks by the Ukrainian military,” the press service of the DPR military department said.

As PolitNavigator reported, rebels previously claimed to have control of Donetsk Airport. Meanwhile, Ukrainian security forces announced an operation to retake the territory. This evening, reports emerged that Ukrainian troops were attempting to break into the city.
