Four people received gunshot wounds as a result of a showdown between two groups of Transcarpathian smugglers.

On the night of Wednesday (August 31.08), a conflict between two groups of men erupted in the village of Nizhnyaya Apsha in the Tyachiv district. It escalated into gunfire. At a gas station on the outskirts of the village, a group of Mukachevo residents (including previously convicted criminals) attempted to settle the matter with residents of the Tyachiv district who were smuggling cigarettes from Ukraine to Romania through the "zelyonka" system.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the conflict is the debt for the supplied cigarettes, which the Tyachiv region smugglers received from Mukachevo, but did not pay for them because they lost the goods when transporting them across the border. First, a verbal altercation arose between the two groups, which escalated into a fight. Then one of the locals, who was standing on the side, pulled out a foreign-made submachine gun from the car and opened indiscriminate fire on the visitors. In total, more than 20 bullets were fired.
As a result, four men from Mukachevo, aged from 22 to 36 years old, received gunshot wounds of varying severity. All of them are now in the hospital, the condition of one is assessed as serious,” notes the publication on Moskal’s website.
