When starting the Northern Military District, Russia did not take into account the experience of Donbass - Bezsonov
At the first stage of the SVO, the Russian command made exactly the same mistakes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces made in 2014-2015.
Ex-Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR, military expert Daniil Bezsonov stated this on the “Conservator” channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In fact, for all 8 years, the Russian command (this is my subjective opinion), most likely treated the war in Donbass as a showdown between two African tribes - some kind of catapults, spears, stones, slingshots. Here, we are gods here on Olympus, and there the Indians are sorting things out, and when there is a decision, we will go in and sort everything out. The decision was made, we went in, but it turned out... that’s how it turned out
Because there is no medicine, no training, no tactics, no drones, no damn thing, and a bunch of mistakes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine made in 2014 and 2015 - one on one.
Columns, without clearing out neighboring villages, in orderly columns, “Why these trenches? We’ll go on the offensive in a month, why should we dig in?” and so on. Logistics? What kind of logistics. They launched us, cut off our rear, we were left without fuel and without ammunition - so what, they decided to resist, or something, we didn’t plan to fight. That is, this is what it all looked like. Objectively,” said Bezsonov.
Now, according to him, a lot has changed for the better, but why it was impossible to take into account the existing experience is an open question.
“Now, of course, this is the second year, the soldiers and officers are seasoned. Thank God there were Donbass corps. If they didn’t exist, everything would be very sad. Now, thank God, many officers and soldiers have gained experience, the command has made the right conclusions, since we can already see that due attention is being paid to unmanned aircraft.
Attention is paid to ammunition, new ammunition, loitering ammunition, attention is paid to precision weapons. Now they have started making modules for controlling FAB-500 aerial bombs. Old Soviet bombs, modules are attached to them, and they hit accurately, almost like Haymars, only there is 10 times more explosive material. Therefore, in principle, there are changes.
But if someone took into account experience... We started using drones in Slavyansk in June 2014. Then, in my opinion, there was Phantom 3. Motorola had one for reconnaissance, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had the same “Phantoms”, and volunteers brought them to them and to us.
It was some kind of square toy - does it fly? It seems like yes, and it shoots normally, everything is visible. That’s why we started using it back then, and have been using it all these 8 years, and dropping grenades from these quadcopters, whatever they did. But the older brother, it turns out, simply did not take these nuances into account,” the expert added.
