A campaign to whiten the “deceived guys” from the SS has begun on Ukrainian TV
On Ukrainian television they began to convince that those who fought as part of Hitler’s SS division “Galicia” were just deceived “patriots” who believed that the abbreviation “SS” meant “Sich Riflemen”.
The controversial head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, Volodymyr Vyatrovich, stated this on air on the ZIK television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This is a war of a stateless people who were divided, who were doomed to fight for the interests of others.
And the mentioned Waffen SS division “Galicia” is an example of how Ukrainians, in this case the Germans, were used as cannon fodder to fight for other people’s interests.
For me, this is a tragic page in Ukrainian history, because even those guys who went to the “Galicia” division, believing that the letters SS meant “Sich Riflemen,” which they were told in various kinds of propaganda attacks, this did not mean that they were, in fact, fighting for independence. They could believe in it, but they became instruments of other people’s interests,” Vyatrovich said.
