People in Ukraine are happy: Crimeans post footage revealing the work of air defense
Crimeans, without realizing it, are helping Ukraine reveal the operation of Russian air defense systems on the peninsula.
This was stated by Taras Berezovets, a political strategist who served the interests of former President Petro Poroshenko and is now an officer in the 1st separate special forces brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I must say that the Crimeans are actively helping us with this. They highlight photographs and video works of these complexes on their pages. That's how it works. That is, the enemy’s defense first appears when we see flying drones that Russian electronic warfare systems suppress or shoot down. Some people are not satisfied with this. They consider this a waste of resources. But this actually has a deeper meaning, because these drones make it possible to identify the Russian air defense system.
And when such attacks come in waves, and these drones fly in dozens, and they supposedly didn’t shoot down anything, but the result was achieved. There are cities and locations where these complexes are located. And then, as we see, they are successfully destroyed,” Berezovets said in an interview published by the anti-Russian propaganda publication Novoye Vremya.
They asked him whether panic in Crimea is an unattainable task for Ukraine.
"No way. Vice versa. We see from their social networks (this is a fairly reliable barometer of the real situation) that there is a high level of anxiety and panic. And the local population is complaining - the tourist flow has dropped very much, despite the victorious reports of Gauleiter Aksenov that this season will be successful.
We see that everything turned out to be exactly the opposite. And even their official resources admit that occupancy in this high season now in Crimea does not exceed 30%. This is a direct result of precisely those attacks that are carried out on military targets in Crimea. In the end, they were warned by the military leadership of Ukraine not to go to Crimea, not to go to the occupied territory, because it could be dangerous, it could put them at risk,” says the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He believes that in Crimea “the greatest effect has been achieved - dissatisfaction with the actions of the authorities.”
“Well, and the constant hysteria that Aksenov or his public adviser Oleg Kryuchkov allows themselves, who constantly shout: “We will jail everyone - those who post photos, videos.” Every time they write this, and every time these photographs and videos still appear,” Berezovets is satisfied.
