The chairman of the public committee for the preparation of the primaries, Natalya Volkova, stated this at a press conference in Donetsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As the chairman of the public information committee, I am pleased that the public initiative, supported by the head of our republic, found a response among residents,” she noted. – At all stages of preparation and conduct of the primaries, one could note the active position of not only representatives and members of public organizations, but also all citizens of the republic. I hope that this project will serve to further consolidate society. We demonstrated to the whole world our independence, as well as the fact that our people are not indifferent to the fate of our republic.
Public organizations took an active part in the preparation of the preliminary vote. We created public reception areas, we held many meetings with the public. Our goal was to explain to people what primaries are for, and I think we succeeded.”
In turn, the press officer of the All-Russian Revolutionary Commission Oleg Balykin did not rule out that in the future primaries will also be held in areas other than those covered during the last vote.
“VRIK does not exclude the possibility of holding primaries at the request of public organizations and movements of the Donetsk People's Republic. We are ready to support such events in other cities and regions of our state,” said Balykin.
