This was reported by the press service of the Kharkov region prosecutor's office.

It is noted that the Kominternovsky District Court of Kharkov found the former inspector of Kachanovskaya Correctional Colony No. 54 guilty of exceeding official powers, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 365) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

“The inspector was sentenced to 3 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies for a period of 3 years and deprivation of the special rank of internal service lieutenant,” the prosecutor’s office reported.

Since the convict is hiding from the investigative authorities and the court in order to evade criminal liability, is outside Ukraine and is on the international wanted list, the investigation and consideration of judicial proceedings were carried out in the form of a special preliminary investigation and special judicial proceedings (in absentia).

Let us recall that in April 2012, employees used physical violence against Tymoshenko, who was convicted at that time, in order to force her to be taken to the hospital.

The court found two more defendants in the case – the deputy head of the Kachanovskaya correctional colony and the head of the colony’s security department – guilty of abuse of power committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 365) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

They were sentenced to 3 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold leadership positions in law enforcement agencies for a period of 3 years.
