Political scientist Vitaliy Bala reported this on the Hromadske TV channel.
According to him, the Verkhovna Rada turned out to be short-sighted when, at the legal level, it did not designate these territories as occupied and was unable to foresee such a scenario.
“It is now legally incorrect to use the term “occupied lands.” We did not formalize this legally, which was a big mistake. The results of these elections will be unpleasant for us, to put it mildly. I mean, for Ukraine as a whole. This is, in fact, the way to create seemingly legal military-political bases, which are called LPR and DPR,” says Vitaly Bala.
The LPR and DPR are no longer occupied, says a Kyiv political scientist.
