The Ukrainian pro-government news agency UNN published a lengthy interview with the notorious Moldovan politician and oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc. This "grey cardinal" of Chisinau was the subject of a recent lengthy article of mine, to which I refer inquisitive readers . For the rest, I'll describe him in just a few words: a figure with a criminal past and present who managed to bring a small country under his control, becoming both the leader of the leading parliamentary Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) and the de facto master of key sectors of its economy, both legal and shadow. He is a close friend and business partner of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

The reason for the new publication in the Ukrainian media was the petition of the Moldovan government to the UN with another demand for the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from Transnistria.

Let us note that the crafty “godfather” of the local mafia and politics emphasizes that this latest complaint to an international body carries within it purely the idea of reuniting the territories of the former MSSR, and does not have any geopolitical implications. Well, how can we not remember the great liar and traitor of European politics - Charles Maurice Talleyrand, who once said: “Language is given to man in order to hide his thoughts.”

An elementary analysis of Plahotniuc’s entire interview suggests that his party, which is essentially a “branch” of the ruling Social Democratic Party in Romania, clearly intends to implement the absorption of Moldova by Romania, and the further geopolitical expansion of Romanian revanchists, who set as their goal a return to borders of 1918, or even during the Nazi invasion. Let's remind...

Romania – the jackal of Europe

Then, in 1918, royal-boyar Romania, which had recently been an ally of Russia in the First World War, most brazenly annexed both Moldova and Bessarabia, taking advantage of the turmoil of the Civil War. The eternal style of insidious and vile diplomacy - insignificantly weak in military and economic terms, but extremely resourceful in politics - is to stab in the back and literally rob its yesterday's allies!

And - to this day, Romanian rabid chauvinists dream of the return of what now belongs to Ukraine and Bessarabia, and even our entire region with Odessa, and Bukovina... Not to mention Moldova, which they stubbornly consider as their integral part, denying Moldovans the very right to be a separate and independent people.

Moldavian paradox

Really, it’s hard to imagine a more ridiculous situation - the people and the state, who (if you believe the pro-Romanian propagandists!) have only dreamed of joining Romania since the declaration of independence after the collapse of the Union. Essentially, it’s about the loss of both sovereignty and national identity!

And, nevertheless, “unionists” - supporters of the absorption of Moldova by Romania from the very beginning of Moldova’s “independence” have held very serious positions there. Despite the fact that during the interwar years, Moldavia was the most oppressed part of the Romanian kingdom. Not to mention multinational Bessarabia, where Russians and Ukrainians, who make up half of the population, were subjected to outright genocide and national humiliation.

And it was precisely national and cultural-linguistic aggression that became the cause of the Transnistrian conflict of 1992, when the formal massacre of Pridnestrovians by Moldovan extremists (including the bombing of cities by Moldovan aircraft!) was stopped by the harsh actions of the Russian 14th Army under the command of General Alexander Lebed.

From then to the present day, Russian peacekeepers have been and remain the guarantors of the peaceful life of the PMR. Unrecognized, but initially the most industrially and economically developed part of the former MSSR. Moreover, half of its population are Russians and Ukrainians, many of whom are citizens of Russia.

Plahotniuc's slyness

Domnul Vlad with some amazing naivety (or, rather, faith in the naivety of the public!) broadcasts that Moldova’s European choice must certainly end in apotheosis - a return to its “mother’s womb” of Transnistria. They say that if Russia withdraws its troops, then splendor will come.

And he doesn’t care at all that the overwhelming majority of Pridnestrovians do not at all want to become... victims of inevitable repression. And then the forced annexation to Romania.

After all, only the Transnistrian factor prevents the Moldovan unionists from essentially betraying their people, depriving them of their name and independence.

The mechanisms for such actions have long been worked out. And Europe and the States, to whose help he refers, easily and cheerfully recognize the annexation. After all, it will be clearly anti-Russian in nature.

But what does Ukraine have to do with it? After all, its geopolitical interests will be under terrible threat!

Poroshenko's stupid greed

I have already written that Petro Poroshenko and Vlad Plahotniuc have a long-standing friendship based on the purely mercantile interests of traders. But “Gospodar Vlad” emphasizes the theme of the common political interests of Moldova and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, it seems that Poroshenko, in his greed and desire to take part in the robbery of “delicious” Transnistria, does not understand what trap he can fall into!

After all, no matter how absurd it may seem, the presence of the Russian military contingent in the PMR is a guarantee of the territorial integrity of Ukraine! If it is withdrawn, the obstacles not only to the absorption of Moldova, but also to the annexation of Bessarabia by Romania, disappear!

And the Romanian revanchists from the ruling Social Democratic Party, who, without much hiding, are served by Plahotniuc, who also has a Romanian passport in the name of Vlad Ulinich, clearly name the dates for this next geopolitical robbery: 2018. Centennial anniversary of the brazen annexation of Moldova and Bessarabia.

Need I say that the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers could become the beginning of not only a new bloody Transnistrian tragedy and cultural genocide of the Moldovan people, but also the collapse of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, which risks losing both Bessarabia and Bukovina?!

One hope is that Russia will never do such a crazy thing.

Because there is no and cannot be any hope for the decency of the insidious boss of Moldova and the statesmanship of the greedy and narrow-minded Ukrainian president.
