The brigade commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donbass is facing a case for embezzlement and extortion
In one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located in the “Joint Forces Operation” zone in Donbass, an investigative commission of the SBU began work, investigating the corruption component of the brigade commander’s activities.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the 17th battalion of the 57th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Netailovo, the SBU commission urgently began its work. The formal reason for the commission's work was the leak of official information. However, there is reason to believe that this check is related to the corruption component of the activities of brigade commander Anatoly Mishanchuk,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
According to his information, servicemen of the 57th brigade are outraged by the payment of salaries not in full, extortions from commanders and the purchase of uniforms and medicines at their own expense.
“In addition, Mishanchuk established the sale of fuels and lubricants in especially large quantities to the local population. All these criminal actions have interested the military counterintelligence agencies and the SBU, and it is possible that the brigade commander of the 57th brigade will soon end his career on prison bunks,” suggested a representative of the defense department.
