According to the odious head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance Vladimir Vyatrovich, the massacre of people in the Odessa House of Trade Unions on May 2 was not a crime, but a “war of independence.”
He stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Events such as May 2, and in general, probably starting from February 18, 2014, should be spoken of as the beginning of a war. Because the first massacres, which began in the Mariinsky Park on February 18, 2014, led to a popular uprising. And this popular uprising unfolded here, in Kyiv, this popular uprising unfolded in all regions.
In some regions it happened with a delay, as, for example, in Odessa - the turning point of these days occurred on May 2nd. But this is also an element of this war, and this is how we must understand it.
We understand perfectly well that the victory of those people who died on May 2 would, in fact, mean a split in Ukraine. Because the victory of the Russian world in Odessa is not only the secession of Odessa and the creation of the Odessa People’s Republic, this, in fact, from a geopolitical point of view, could mean the loss of not only the extreme east, but also the southeast of Ukraine,” Vyatrovich said.
