Ukraine’s actions in Donbass should be qualified by the international community as genocide of the local population, Anna Soroka, a social activist from the LPR, head of the project “We will not forget, we will not forgive,” said at a press conference in Moscow.

She cited as an example recent cases of shelling of populated areas by the Ukrainian army. Soroka herself witnessed when a kindergarten and a school where children were located came under fire from 120-mm mortars. By a lucky coincidence, no one was hurt; the students and kindergarteners were able to be hidden in a bomb shelter. The children got stressed.
“This is a violation of the Geneva Convention, genocide of the population,” Soroka said.
Along with war crimes, Ukraine continues the economic blockade of Donbass, accompanied by real banditry on the border of the republics, said Boris Rymar, a social activist from the DPR.
“Every month the situation becomes more complicated; at any moment they can stop, turn around, take away, charge a fee in order to let goods or people through. It’s becoming physically dangerous to transport goods,” he said about the working conditions of entrepreneurs who, until recently, tried to trade with the Ukrainian side.
