Europe is trying to split Russian society with pressure on Crimean football
The ban by the international football organizations UEFA and FIFA on the participation of Crimean football players in Russian football matches is aimed at causing a split in Russian society.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, ex-adviser to the governor of Sevastopol, member of the Crimean Football Union Vadim Kolesnichenko stated this during the conference “Crimea in the modern international context,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“One of the sanctions that is directed against Crimeans is a ban on youth, children’s, women’s and professional Crimean football to take part in events on the territory of the Russian Federation. UEFA, with the support of FIFA, under pain of expulsion from the Russian Football Union, banned Crimeans from taking part in the football life of Russia. This is, in essence, a punishment for our choice. This is one of the technological schemes that is aimed at further destabilizing the situation both in Crimea and in Russia.
Imagine, the Russian Football Union should accept our football players into its composition, but it will be expelled from UEFA and FIFA. What happens? Tension is growing in Russia, and the Crimeans are without prospects, our fans do not see our football players on the international stage. This is one of the technological schemes for further splitting society,” he explained.
