Dodik spoke out against turning the electoral system of BiH into a US-controlled appendage
Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik intends to present to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska a draft agreement between the Central Election Commission of BiH and the American Agency for Electoral Processes.
According to the leader of the Bosnian Serbs, the essence of this agreement planned between Sarajevo and Washington violates the interests of the Republika Srpska and encroaches on the sovereignty of the electoral process.
“The agreement allows this American agency to deal with the issues of voter lists in BiH and many other issues, gives foreigners access to direct participation in the process and allows it to control it,” said a Serbian member of the BiH Presidency. “Within 72 hours, I will present its text to the deputies of the People’s Assembly of the Republika Srpska and ask them to declare whether they are ready to support the defense of the vital interests of the entity.”
Milorad Dodik believes that if there is no political majority in the RS parliament to block the agreement, the Serbian entity of BiH has yet to see the negative long-term consequences of its conclusion.
The memorandum gives Americans the right to implement cybersecurity of the electoral process and control the financing of political parties. That is, it puts elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the complete control of Washington.
